Wedding Guest Make Up

At the beginning of the month, I attended my boyfriend's brother's wedding. I was rather happy with the make up I did for myself on the day, so I thought I'd do a post all about it. The photos above are of my make up from the day and all of the products I used.
Eyes

I began with my eyes to prevent mistakes from ruining my base. First I applied Benefit Puff Off eye cream under my eyes and applied Benefit Air Patrol all over my eyelids and up to my eyebrows. I then started on my eyeshadow, using the Naked Smoky palette which is my favourite. I applied 'Radar' all over my eyelid, 'Whiskey' in the crease and popped 'Dirtysweet' in the middle, to brighten up the eyeshadow look. I used my favourite L'Oreal Perfect Slim eyeliner before applying Le Volume De Chanel mascara to my upper lashes. 
I then applied my favourite lashes, Ardell Demi Wispies, with Duo Lash Glue and fused them to my own lashes with a coat of Le Volume De Chanel mascara. After doing my base, I applied Le Volume De Chanel mascara to my bottom lashes. For my brows, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Auburn with a MAC 266 brush, finishing them off with L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper gel in Light/Medium.
Base

I started off my base by applying the NARS Illuminator in Copacabana over my cheeks. I then applied Revlon ColorStay foundation in Sand Beige all over my face with a flat foundation brush, it is the perfect foundation for me when I have tan on and it makes my skin look flawless. I then applied Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer under my eyes and Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer around my nose, and blended everything in with my Real Techniques sponge. I finished off my base by applying Bourjois Healthy Balance powder all over my face.
Finishing Touches

My make up would not have been complete without these few finishing touches. First I applied my Clarins Aquatic Treasures bronzer to contour and also add a bit more colour to my face. I then applied my NARS blusher in Isadora, to add a splash of colour to my cheeks, this colour goes perfectly with a tan. Afterwards, I popped Becca Cosmetics Champagne Pop highlighter on my cheekbones, under my brows, on my cupids bow and the tip of my nose. To finish off the look, I used my all-time favourite lipstick, which is Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution lipstick in Bond Girl.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo[+] Unifiant

It is no secret that La Roche-Posay is my all-time favourite skincare brand and I love the original Effaclar Duo[+], so when I was asked if I wanted to try the new Effaclar Duo[+] Unifiant I was extremely excited! This offers a sheer coverage whilst still having all the properties and benefits of Effaclar Duo[+]. It's non-comedogenic, so it doesn't block pores like other tinted moisturiser type products might. 
I apply this after my moisturiser and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and matte. It does have a very sheer coverage, which I like but what I specifically like about it is that it makes your pores invisible! I can see myself having more no-foundation days because of this, as hiding my pores is the main reason I wear foundation. It also works great as a primer underneath foundation. It feels so lightweight on your skin and is absorbed just as quickly as the original Effaclar Duo[+].
I have noticed since using this that my skin is less oily, it does a great job of mattifying my whole face, especially my T-Zone. Effaclar Duo[+] Unifiant is now definitely a staple in my skincare routine, it makes my skin so much less red and hides my pores and imperfections, it's great for using on no make-up days especially! Glastonberry Matte Revolution Lipstick | Charlotte Tilbury

I recently won a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Sally's giveaway and because we're coming up to Autumn, I chose the Matte Revolution lipstick in Glastonberry, everyone loves a berry lip in Autumn! I own Bond Girl in the same formula of lipstick so I knew I'd absolutely love this one. As with everything Charlotte Tilbury, it's in beautiful vintage style rose gold packaging. 
The shape of the bullet is unique, I actually prefer these square shaped bullets as I think it makes the lipstick so much easier to apply. The only thing I would say about application, is that a dark shade like this would probably look better if I lined my lips before applying it. Even though it is matte, it is still creamy to apply and doesn't feel drying on the lips at all. Both Glastonberry and Bond Girl make my lips look more full. which is always wonderful! I will definitely be getting a lot of wear out of this lipstick over the next few months!

Legendary Lashes Mascara | Charlotte Tilbury

There is only one beauty product that I will only own one at a time, that is mascara. So back in late June when I was in Covent Garden, I realised my Too Faced Better Than Sex would run out soon, so popped into the Charlotte Tilbury store to pick up a new mascara. I told one of the make up artists there that I wanted a good all rounder mascara and Legendary Lashes was what she suggested.
As with all Charlotte Tilbury packaging, it is rose gold and beautiful. It's so classic and you can certainly tell it is an expensive product. I love the eye illustration on the one side of the mascara and Legendary Lashes written in a beautiful font on the other side. The brush is the perfect size and shape, so it doesn't go all over my eyelids. 
The mascara dries so quickly - I sneezed a few times five minutes after the first application and it didn't go all over my face like some other mascaras would! It makes my lashes the darkest black, which I love. It also makes them appear longer and gives them an amazing curl. The longest I tend to keep my mascara on is about 10 hours and after 10 hours, it had only slightly transferred to my undereyes and I have terribly oily eyelids. It doesn't flake at all either which is wonderful. When it came to taking it off, it was easily removed with some Bioderma on a cotton pad. I think it has taken over as my favourite mascara!

My go-to everyday lipsticks

This post has been a long time coming so I thought I'd finally put it up! These lipsticks are the ones that I keep in my everyday make up drawer and decide which one I'm popping on my face depending on where I'm off to and what eye shadow I've got on. As you can probably already tell I'm not much of a nude lip girl, I prefer to opt for my reds and pinks on a daily basis.
Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution lipstick in Bond Girl is my favourite lipstick currently, it's described as a 'chic natural berry' and it's such a gorgeous your lips but better shade. The square shaped bullet makes it extra easy to apply, it's just so effortless, I love it. MAC Russian Red is my 'easy' everyday red, it takes barely any time to apply and is perfect for the colder months when I want a darker lip. Clarins Joli Rouge lipstick in Tea Rose provides the perfect sheer lip for when you're rushing out the door. That's what I use it for anyway!
MAC Lady Danger is the perfect orangey-red for Spring and Summer. I love popping this on as it's so bold and such a fun colour. YSL Pink in Paris is perfect for a day where my eye shadow needs that perfect pink lip to match with. It's so moisturising, it's perfect all year round.

How Much Is My Face Worth?

I did one of these 'What is my face worth?' posts a long while back when I first started this blog and thought I'd do an updated one, now I use more products and more high end products. It can be a huge surprise how much you actually spent on your everyday make up, but it's fun to see nonetheless!

Urban Decay in Wonderland | The Mad Hatter Make Up Look

This is my second Alice Through The Looking Glass inspired make up look, this one's for the Mad Hatter. I took inspiration from Johnny Depp's Hatter for this look, it's so exciting doing out of the ordinary make up looks, but this is still a wearable one.
I did my base as normal, then I started on the eyes. I put Hatter all over my lid, then Cake in the crease. I thought I'd also be fun to use Gone Mad as liner. I then popped on some bright pink lipstick in the form of MAC Miley Viva Glam to complete the look.

Urban Decay in Wonderland | Alice Make Up Look

As the Alice Through The Looking Glass film comes out on Friday here in the UK, I thought I'd do a few make-up looks to celebrate. The first of four make up looks is this Alice make up look. Alice has quite 'dainty' make up but I thought I'd also use the Alice colours in the new Urban Decay palette.
I did my base as normal, then I started on the eye shadow! I put Looking Glass all over my lid, Dormouse in the crease and Reflection in the middle of my eyelid, then blended it all together. I popped a bit of Lily in the inner corner because it's such a pretty highlight colour! I then popped on Clarins lipstick in Tea Rose to complete the look. I am aware I'm not great at make up but I thought I'd give this a go anyway.

Clarins Autumn Collection 2015

Clarins have done it again. Bringing gorgeous new shades of existing products and a brand new limited-edition eyeshadow palette out for Autumn, this is a collection I'm highly excited about. The most exciting of all the new releases is the Limited Edition Pretty Day 5-Colour Eye Shadow palette. The colours are beige, pink, shimmering taupe, matte brown and shimmering brown. They are all easily wearable and would create a great eye look using just a couple of shades or all of them! Neutral shadows are perfect all year round but browns look especially stunning in the Autumn. You can buy the palette for £33.
There are new eyebrow pencils in three different shades which are Dark Brown, Light Brown and Soft Blonde. I like these because they come with the pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other. It's always great to be able to brush through your brows before you pencil them in, so you know exactly where they're meant to be going and can keep them tidy. The eyebrow pencils are available for £17 each.
There are new shades of the Ombre Matte, Crayon Khol and Rouge Eclat. The Ombre Matte shadows (which I love) are now available in Carbon and Heather. Two new stunning shades for Autumn, a shimmery black and a shimmery taupe-purple. These eye shadows are so soft and buttery, I'm so happy to be adding two more to my collection. They are available for £19 each. The Crayon Khol's now come in Carbon Black and True Violet. These eye liner pencils are some of the softest that I've found so I'm glad they're now available in more colours. They are £17 each. The Rouge Eclat lipsticks now come in Tawny Rose and Red Paprika for Autumn. These are such Autumnal shades, I cannot wait to wear the red throughout Autumn and Winter. They are available for £19.50 each.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Makeover

On Wednesday 8th July, me and Chloe headed to the newly opened MAKE UP FOR EVER counter in Debenhams Birmingham for our makeovers which were kindly booked for us. I'd heard amazing things about the brand and their make up so I was so excited to try them out. The counter is actually in a little section of its own, which I think is perfect as you can really get the feel for this professional brand. The artists in there are so lovely and it's nice to feel welcome when you go to a make up counter, as it's not always the way. Each product is made for use in the professional industry, so you're guaranteed amazing quality!

The lovely Neve led me over to the chair where we started discussing what sort of make up look I like to wear. I explained that I love a red lip and some winged liner - but that I cannot do liner to save my life. Firstly the hydrating and matte primers were applied onto my face. The hydrating one around my nose piercing because it is super dry at the moment. Then she went onto my eyes, where she applied the famous MUFE Aqua Cream and shadows in ME514 and D712 to create a gorgeous neutral eye. Loose glitter pigment was also applied over the top for a bit of shimmer. Neve applied Aqua Brow to my eyebrows, making them look sharp but natural, exactly how I like them. She highlighted them with a bit of concealer, which made them look so defined it was incredible!

With my face, the HD concealer and foundation were applied and oh my god they photograph so well! The brush Neve used to apply my foundation also was amazing, it literally buffed for you so you barely had to do any of the work. After the foundation and concealer, contour was applied with the sculpting kit. It was such a lovely colour on my pale skin! Then Neve applied a gorgeous cream blush, which I'm not usually a huge fan of but this one was gorgeous. The Ink Liner was used for my eye liner and literally I wish I could pay Neve to do my eyeliner every single day. She perfected it, I could never ever do liner that well. I was sad to have to take it off when I went to bed that night! The look was finished off with the Aqua Lip Pencil and Rouge Intense Lipstick. The shade of lipstick used was stunning and I could not stop looking at my make up for the whole night.

I was sent the majority of the products from my makeover to try at home. So far from my makeover I think they're all amazing. I'll be doing more thorough reviews of the products over the coming months, so watch out for those. I'm so grateful for being sent these and for the fabulous makeover!
